I work for Sagent and am trying to edit our page.[edit]

Please do not remove my material as I am working to get the information and citation to load correctly. 4.14.10.194 (talk) 21:47, 7 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Please review our WP:Conflict of interest policy. Note that companies who engage in COI or even paid editing may end up getting bad publicity for it if picked up by the media. You are welcome to bring your suggestions to the talk page of the article and request your changes there, but be sure to declare your COI when you do. Otherwise, you should not edit the article directly. Zaereth (talk) 22:04, 7 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
And it is most definitely not "your" page - it is Wikipedia's page about your employer, and will include whatever information (good or bad) complies with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, not what you/your employer want it to say - Arjayay (talk) 22:11, 7 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Question on reverting talk pages with warnings[edit]

I am new to WP:RCP. I've seen quite a few users remove warnings from their talk page. The first time I tried to revert this, WP warned me not to, but I saw you do this on an IP recently. Wondering the policy here? Sorry for the newbie question. violetwtf (talk) 06:47, 8 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

(talk page stalker) @violetwtf: usually it's allowed to remove talk page warnings from one's own page (WP:OWNTALK), as it often means the user/IP has acknowledged it. Whether they stop vandalizing or not is another question, of course. LilianaUwU (talk / contributions) 06:52, 8 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@LilianaUwU: hi! thanks so much. I am curious about the reasoning/justifications behind this revert then. appreciate your help :) violetwtf (talk) 06:55, 8 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
(EC) WP:BLANKING should cover this topic. I observe this policy, but I revert some removals if they vandalize the posts by other users or distort their meaning. That removal might or might not fall under this category. Moot. Materialscientist (talk) 06:57, 8 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Materialscientist: Honestly, I can't see this applying to any of the exceptions listened under BLANKING. Per OWNTALK, "There is no need to keep them on display, and usually users should not be forced to do so." I think in terms of WP:CS, given this is an IP, this is a good edit, but maybe an edit to BLANKING/OWNTALK to specifically reference anon users could be useful. WP:DRC seems to take a very strong stance against this behavior, though. violetwtf (talk) 07:06, 8 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
(Edit conflicts are a hassle :-) Yes, but we've got many policies and sometimes more than one applies. Removal should not be (borderline) vandalism. But again, the revert you mentioned is borderline, and I would not mind at all if anyone reverted me on that. Materialscientist (talk) 07:11, 8 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Materialscientist: No problem! I'm just trying to learn. I agree with this change overall but this helps me know how guidelines interact for the future. violetwtf (talk) 07:26, 8 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

My factually true edit keeps getting reverted[edit]

I edited jihad watch wiki page to write in that it is pro Israel, which they don't actually deny. So why can't this be mentioned on Wikipedia? 143.92.181.234 (talk) 08:06, 8 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hatfield/McCoy feud page.[edit]

First- thank you for all of your work. 🙏🏼 I'm writing in hope that you may be able to help me with some family history regarding the feud. I wrote a paper in college that I wish I still had. My primary source book showed my great grandfather as being one of the key players in the beginning of the conflict. His name was John Whitt. Just wondering if you may have run across that name at some point.

I'm sure you saw many different variations of the stories. I'm sure your story came from multiple sources or so I would guess.

Thank you very much for your time. Joe Parker Boston Mass Buddhojoe (talk) 20:01, 9 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Did you really review my edits and edit summary? I doubt it otherwise it is inconceivable you would so blithely revert my edit and allow this flawed and biased article to stand unchallenged. "Don't say gay" is political agitprop, mouthed and pushed by ideological warriors who object to any restraints on sexualizing minors, starting in kindergarten. As Wikipedia has deemed almost all non-MSM publications that do not lean left as unreliable, the sources which POV-pushing editors use all confirm the bias, as seen in the Anti-LGBT curriculum article. Don't you care?

The moronic deus ex machina term "Don't Say Gay" (which has no basis in reality) should be referenced as being just that and nothing more, not given pride of place in article titles, ledes, headers, summaries, etc. 67.84.230.45 (talk) 00:17, 10 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Surely I did. You removed sourced information with a summary that questioned a bias, but also read like a bias. See WP:NOR. Materialscientist (talk) 00:20, 10 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
So how would you suggest I word it? I am at a loss. 67.84.230.45 (talk) 00:30, 10 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Is this better? Yours. 67.84.230.45 (talk) 00:40, 10 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Regarding the changes that were reverted to me on the literacy rate[edit]

Hi, I made some changes to the literacy rate page by moving Taiwan from the list of territories to the list of states, since it is a sovereign and legitimate state. Or would Taliban's Afghanistan be more legitimate than Taiwan? In the world, only mainland China recognizes Taiwan as its own territory. 151.47.123.119 (talk) 00:20, 10 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Painfully obvious GHBH socking[edit]

Hi. You just blocked Isabpcgood. You may want to take a look at the suspiciously-named Isabpc, which edited South Windsor, Connecticut twice within two minutes of Isabpcgood, and then showed up at Isabpcgood's talk page to say "Yup, I saw him adding non constructive things, please refrain from doing this". TPA[edit]

Hi there. I just reverted some talk page spam for a IP user you blocked for spamming (49.36.68.71). I don't know if it's customary to revoke talk page access for IP users, but I'll let you decide if it's necessary in this case. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 15:14, 14 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Disruptive editing persists even with your reversion/feedback[edit]

An apparent vandal / persistently disruptive editor continues to add unsupported and uncited information into the article below. You reverted it once, as did another editor, but the vandal added a substantially identical edit a third time which has not yet been reverted. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Fischer 2600:4040:49D1:6100:D83D:A72C:1D91:5AED (talk) 17:29, 15 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The above user is repeatedly changing an article, with the same uncited edits. See Ibrahim of Johor: Revision history. I have repeatedly reverted those edits with an appropriate edit summary, but I guess they did not see those summaries. I have checked some of their other edits here and those that I checked are also uncited and I have no way of checking them or providing missing citations for those edits. So please would you kindly consider blocking them? Thank you. Storye book (talk) 15:48, 16 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Reverted edits on the Frisco engine articles[edit]

Hey, the reason why I redirected the articles on St. Louis-San Francisco 1630 and 1522 was to simplify them. I already tried using the “redirect” button, but it wouldn’t go through, because old redirect pages called Frisco 1630 and Frisco 1522 already existed.
